April Showers Flooding the Ozarks

Here in the Ozark Mountains, we enjoy spring rains.  The pastures green up, the trees bud out and growing season gets in full swing.  If you've never experienced spring in the Ozarks, I must tell you that we are in what is called Tornado Alley and that name has already been proven true this week and daily threats are heading our way next week too, but I wanted to share with you pictures of our local creeks...

Where we live can be a bit tricky to get out of during the spring due to these rains.  Today is Easter Sunday, Resurrection Day and we were unable to get out to church.  That old saying 'Lord willin and the creek don't rise' is alive and well in these parts.  The other way out consist of driving through a creek during the dry days of summer so it isn't even an option after these spring rains.

These pictures were taken after only three days of rain....there is three more days of rain forecasted....I'll post more pictures soon.  And if anyone is wondering where my bee hive post is.....it's raining, lol.  The bees are content to stay inside the hive at the moment.  I tried to get some pictures yesterday, but there wasn't a bee to be seen.

I pray you have had a blessed and safe Easter weekend!
