Christmas Crafting

Having a few weeks before Christmas, we choose this time to have some serious crafting sessions in our home.  We love having a homemade Christmas and have a continuous art class until Christmas "vacation".

If you homeschool, you know there really is never any vacation, not even during the summer.  Our daughter learns more from her hands on Farmers Market experience than anything she learns from her curriculum during the school year.

Every year I've had a hard time finding ideas for handmade ornaments, decorations, new Christmas recipes and handmade gifts, but this year is a different story!  I thought I'd share some of the top ones we are deciding on.  I'll begin with cute ideas for Christmas table settings.

I love the idea of using pine cones in homemade decorations!  Here are a few more different decorating ideas....

Here are a few handmade ornament ideas that are fun for children!  Be sure to put each child's name and age and the year you enjoyed time together making these, on each child's personalized ornament!

I really like these next few gift ideas...

And we can never forget the reason we celebrate Christmas!

I hope these ideas inspire you and we pray you have a Blessed and Peaceful Christmas!!

I love the reindeer thumbprint ornaments and the pine bough sprays!
My kids and I have made the lacey paper stars before. Those are fun to make and they are fairly simple to do.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  6. Sharon, wow! Is that your lovely cabin front door? you have done a gorgeous job!!! I also love using natural items such as pine cones...later you can just put them back outdoors :)I especially like the thumbprint reindeer balls for the tree!! Very clever!

  7. Jacqueline ~ that isn't our front door, but I love finding all sorts of decorating ideas for our front porch area. The natural items or handmade items are about all we decorate with. We spent a few years in northern Wisconsin and I simply love working with birch. My favorite in the picture above is the pine spray on the door, the simple pine tree with lights and the birch! We will be going out in the woods today to gather items for decorating this way. We don't find much pine here, we are overloaded with cedar which smells just as good :)

    Have a blessed Christmas!
