Use enough water to cover your jars by about one inch. Fill your jars with the jam, leaving 1/2 inch headspace. Make sure the rims are clean before putting on the lids. Carefully place the jars into the boiling water. Let the water return to a boiling state before timing your processing time. 5 minutes for pints, 10 minutes for quarts. I hope this helps!Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17266816805551915978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1901352933618729952.post-57817505881161057842012-07-09T04:16:05.652-05:002012-07-09T04:16:05.652-05:00What does it mean when it says Bring water to a bo...What does it mean when it says Bring water to a boil in camber and insert jars? The blackberries did so well last year, I still have enough to make at least 4 more batches, but what would I do with all that jam?

It has been so hot here this year that the blackberries in our area have really suffered. We planted two more bushes, but not in full sun this time. That late afternoon sun seems to be what is hurting them.Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17266816805551915978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1901352933618729952.post-13699515760527819722011-07-28T07:06:27.578-05:002011-07-28T07:06:27.578-05:00I need to pull the blackberries out of the freezer...I need to pull the blackberries out of the freezer from last year and get this done. our blackberries around here didn't do very well this year. not sure why.
